Outings

All of our outside adventures are dependant on the weather and outside conditions. Updates will be announced at meetings and on this page and on the group's Facebooks page - check back often!

California Campfire Permits

For California visits, anywhere outside of a designated campground and outside of a camper, a California Campfire Permit is needed for any public land. Click here to get your online California Campfire Permit and have it accessible on your smartphone while at the claim. Campfire permits are good for one year. **As of August 18, 2025, fires are only permitted inside established fire rings (not fire rings you build on your own).

STOP!

Important Notice: No Mechanical Equipment Allowed

The use of mechanical equipment—including highbankers—to recover gold is strictly prohibited on all GPAA of Northern Nevada, Reno–owned or adopted claims. Even if such equipment becomes legal again, it will still not be allowed on our adopted claims.

Violating this rule puts us all at risk:

  • Equipment (including trucks and trailers) may be confiscated

  • Heavy fines may be issued

  • We may lose access to these claims for all members, especially where landowners did not agree to mechanical use

If you are using mechanical equipment—STOP IMMEDIATELY.

Thanks
